finishing touches

in case you haven't noticed, the sheers have a diamond pattern and so do the throw pillows and the grid in the front door. pretty, huh! nana and aunt cathryn came over to see it the other day, and they both loved it. we are still deciding what pictures to put up and where to hang them. we'll take more photos as we decide on that.

carpet and furniture

these are photos with a bit more finished. we love the carpet, and the colors all tie in perfectly. the most accurate color for the rug is on the closeup. i have a little sewing to do for the drapes to be finished, but we are both very happy with the overall look.

painted!! woohoo!!!

we are sooooo excited... (well, at least i am) we have finally done the painting and carpet. we have also moved most of our useable stuff in. (i'm not quite sure yet what we'll do with the rest of the junk still in the dining room.) so here are the latest photos. (the most accurate paint color is in the master bedroom photo... but lighting always makes it a little different.)

this is with almost all the new moldings up. it was handy to hide the extra wiring under the moldings... clever daddy!

egads! this is where we keep all our stuff! (movie check)

this is all our "stuff" crammed into the dining room and kitchen. lovely, huh!

everything torn apart and re-wired

so, now finally, on to the current project at hand. our house has been ripped apart for 6 weeks now. here are a few progress photos. i haven't taken the painted ones yet, but perhaps tomorrow. carpet is scheduled for next wednesday. yeah!! i'm just glad we had the apartment to stay in... what a total mess! .....soooo, after numerous tries, the computer isn't responding and i can't load photos right now. i think i'll turn it off for a few minutes and try again later.
here we are at the providence, rhode island zoo watching the penguins. hi, dylan and jude!!! grama loves you!!
this trip was the first two weeks of may. i stayed with jesse and aubrey's family in massachusetts and had a great time. i was also able to slip over to new york and see nicholaus and emily for a minute. i tried to load a video taken with aubrey and the boys at the boston aquarium, but i think it was too big and couldn't load. the worst part is always when i have to come back home and leave "my little boys"... waaaahhhh!!! but, all in all, i had a really great time.
